The series consists of 5 figures:
- KK M1 Elector Friedrich II.
- KK M2 Electoral standard bearer
- KK M3 Master builder
- KK M4 Assistant to the master builder
- KK M5 Guild master
Elector Frederick II, called "Iron Tooth" (1413-1471, Margrave and Elector of Brandenburg) because of his rigorous appearance and determined will to power, laid the foundation stone for the first castle building in 1443. The Elector thus prevailed against the protests of the councillors, the so-called "Berlin Unwill"; the twin city forfeited political and economic freedoms as a result of its rejection of the palace building.
Curate Frederick II exploited the rift between patricians and commoners. But revenge is sweet, so they flooded his castle building site in early 1448.
This first castle building, erected on the site of the later Schlüterhof and Hof III, also had the function of a fortification as the electoral residence, from which the trade routes crossing the Spree Island were to be controlled. The appearance of the castle at that time is unknown.
