The second part of "Diorama Project" is about the painting of the figures belonging to the dioramas. This time the following people were involved again: Frederik Astier, Jari Hemila, Fabrizio Pincelli, Adam Wilder and Fernando González. The first part of the book introduces the workplace, the paints and other materials needed, and the assembly of the figures. The main focus, however, is then on the painting techniques. The basics of uniform and face painting are shown, as well as a wide variety of techniques. Painting with brush and airbrush is treated equally. A main topic is the ageing effects. In the second part of the book, painting is shown on very concrete figures of various armed forces of the Second World War: - German Infantryman - U.S. Forces - Marines on Iwo Jima - Soviet Forces - Japanese Army The final part is again the gallery with photos of dioramas.
Subjects include: - Painting with brushes and acrylics - Acrylics: brushes + airbrush + detail profiling - Acrylics: brushes + detail profiling with inks - Airbrush and brushes (acrylics) + brushes (oilbrushers) - Painting a Wehrmacht splinter camouflage pattern.
