The Hawker "Tempest" was developed as a classic fighter aircraft and successor to the "Typhoon", which did not fulfil the hopes placed in it as a fighter aircraft, but played an important role in the war as a successful fighter-bomber and attack aircraft. Successor to the "Typhoon" - The Hawker "Tempest" was intended for fighter missions, mainly to combat Luftwaffe aircraft. Between 1944 and 1945, however, there were only a few aircraft with black crosses in the sky, but thousands of unmanned V-1s wreaking havoc in London. The first task of the squadrons armed with Tempest aircraft was therefore to combat the V-1s flying in over England.
