This fourth volume presents the memoirs of two veterans of the Waffen-SS. Peter Jacobsen was drafted into the Waffen-SS at the end of 1941 at the age of 19, trained there as a radio operator and experienced his first deployment in January 1942 with the SS Cavalry Brigade in the Toropez area. Of particular note are his operations in the Pripyet Marshes with the SS Cavalry Division, his use in the SS Corps Intelligence Division 106 in the Courland, and the occupation of Eichstätt by US troops on 25/26 April 1945.
Hans Hentschel was drafted into the Waffen-SS in August 1944 at the age of 18. Trained as an artilleryman, he eventually served in the artillery regiment of the 32nd SS Volunteer Grenadier Division "30th January". He remained there, starting with the positions on the Oder until crossing the Elbe, and also experienced the dramatic Kessel von Halbe with the division.
