Short-barreled weapons for metal cartridges are still in the hands of government officials, hunters and sport shooters even in the third century of their existence. And the industry continues to produce new versions or optimised variants of existing models. This booklet is dedicated to the topic with a view to sporting handguns and chooses a new angle - namely that of combining the performance, technology and also a little history of certain types of pistols and revolvers with a respective sporting purpose.
There will also be separate chapters for western and muzzle-loading revolvers, for small-calibre pistols and revolvers, here too adapted to sporting use. The aim of all this is to draw attention to certain types of weapons and the sporting disciplines that go with them, and to provide assistance in making purchasing decisions. Naturally, representatives of the associations for the respective disciplines will also have their say.
