The path of "Interflug", the GDR airline, began as "Deutsche Lufthansa". The resulting conflict led to the renaming when there was no way out of the legal impasse. Using documents and files, the author describes the path of the GDR aviation company with its agricultural flight, remote sensing, industrial and research flight, airports and air traffic control operations through successful years, with dedicated personnel, under pressure from many restrictions and economic shortages. It documents with partly unknown material the way to the break-up in 1991 by the liquidation ordered by the Treuhandanstalt.
