Illustrated with a large number of contemporary b/w and some colour photos, the booklet presents the career of the German night fighter pilot Heinz Strüning. Among other things, his training as an aeroplane pilot, bombing raids on Germany, deployment as a night fighter and finally his development into an ace long-distance night fighter. Furthermore, officer for bravery and Knight's Cross recipient, missions as squadron captain with the He 219, shot down on 5/6 September 1943, award of the oak leaves due to his 50th night fighter aerial victory, honour guard at the grave of Helmut Lent and his last enemy flight in December 1944.
