The 48-page booklet describes the varied and adventurous history of the MiG-29 beginning with its introduction into the NVA in 1988, through the subsequent takeover of this special aircraft by the Air Force, to its intensive use as a NATO sparring partner. The account of its service life extends to the disbandment of 1./JG 73 on 4 August 2004 and the handover of the MiG fleet to the Polish Air Force.
