10 years after the Phantom was taken out of service, the two authors want to present one of the most striking fighter aircraft of the Cold War - the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II - which proved its operational capability and reliability as a fighter-bomber and fighter aircraft in the German Luftwaffe for 40 years in a quantity of 175 aircraft. Part 2 deals with other Luftwaffe units, the Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61, as well as all the many commands, foreign exercises and operational commitments from Goose Bay to Red Flag and Air Policing Iceland. It also covers the various armaments and details of the F-4F Phantom.
