Erich Ludendorff's work is today regarded negatively, especially in Germany; abroad, on the other hand, he is regarded more as a great military leader. Moreover, he did not succeed in averting defeat in 1918; shortly before the end of the war he was dismissed without a sound. In 1923 he putsched together with Hitler, but afterwards became a warner against National Socialism. With this work, the author presents the third, completely revised version of a biography of the controversial army leader. In doing so, he benefited from his service as a general, which enabled him to judge Ludendorff's actions independently.
