The new edition of this book has been a desideratum for many years, especially as the interest in the Austro-Hungarian army has not diminished in recent years. Army has certainly not diminished in the last years of its existence. An introduction to the picture series and its creator is followed by information on the organisation of the army at the time and its complement; the main part of the work finally consists of a detailed description of the uniforms, weapons and equipment of the various parts of the army. - A must-read for anyone interested in old Austria!
Oskar Brüch (1869-1943), former k. u. k. Dr Günter Dirrheimer, born in 1940, works at the Museum of Military History in Vienna and is a member of the Institute for Austrian Historical Research.
