The soldiers of the Italian army over the last 150 years. Luca Cristini has already presented books on armies of different centuries. Now he shows hitherto rather unknown facets of the uniforms of Italian armies. It is not a complete treatise on the development of the uniforms of Italian soldiers, but rather the author sets certain focal points. The Kingdom of Sardinia from 1859 onwards, the Austro-Hungarian army in Italy in 1859, the Italians in Eritrea in 1885, the time of King Umberto I and the Italian army from 1880 to 1890 in all troop categories are covered. While World War I is largely omitted, Christini considers the Italian army in the Libyan War of 1911 in detail. After a description of uniforms in WW2, the author concludes by showing Italian soldiers from 1968 to 1993.
