Eduard Ferdinand Scheibert, a druggist in Vienna, laid the foundation for a successful pewter figure dispensary, which was later decisively influenced by two women: Hedwig Scheibert and her granddaughter Ulla Schiller. After outstanding designs, mostly by K. A. Wilke, the best engravers such as Ludwig Frank, Sixtus Maier, P. E. Kovar and others created artistically sophisticated pewter figures. This publication documents the history of the Offizin for the first time. With over 100 mostly colour illustrations and two early lists of figures, it helps to bring the Scheribert pewter figures to life.
