The second part of the comprehensive work on the elite unit of the German Army in World War II: the "Großdeutschland" Division. Exceptionally detailed descriptions and illustrations of the uniforms and insignia of this elite unit are combined with a well-founded account of the history of this troop, which developed from an independent motorbike regiment in 1939 into a panzergrenadier division and finally into a corps-sized unit. The "Wachbataillon Berlin" and the "Führer-Begleitbataillon", which were closely associated with the "Großdeutschland" division, are also included. Approximately 1500 illustrations of uniforms, decorations, portraits and personal items of ordinary soldiers and outstanding personalities represent every component of this extraordinary Wehrmacht unit.
