The cut-out figures, vehicles, aircraft and terrain parts made of cardboard were intended as toys, but today they offer the informed viewer an interesting look at the development of the uniforms and equipment of the German military as well as the army's self-image in the mirror of its time. The volume shows thousands of figures on 173 colour illustrations.
