In this small scene, the "Master of the Chair" (King Frederick II) admits a new member to the Masonic Lodge. The ceremony is almost over as the new member (Frederick of Bayreuth) receives his rapier back. According to the regulations of the Lodge, Frederick II of Bayreuth has his rapier on the table, on the statutes, in front of him and the Masonic hammer on the left side of his chest (on his heart). (after a picture of the lodge "Eleusis zur Verschwiegenheit" -Freimaurermuseum Bayreuth.) Engraving: Lecke
