This series is intended as a supplement to the "Poniatowski at Leipzig" series (239/8). This unit, which was not formed until 1813 at Krakow, formed the cavalry of the 8th Corps with the cuirassiers at Leipzig. The standard is not the unit's flag (it had none), but the army command flag. The cuirasses were also used in the 1814 campaign in France. There the headgear changed from the confederatka to the "melon". To represent this, soldering heads are enclosed. There were also Krakusen during the Russian campaign of 1812, but these were armed with lances in the manner of the Cossacks. They mostly consisted of born inhabitants of Krakow, hence the name.
