Like its predecessor, Special Reconnaissance and Advanced Small Unit Patrolling, this book is set to become the bible for partisan/guerrilla operations. Organised and written in a concise military style, similar to a military field manual, it will be the ultimate reference on unconventional warfare. The book examines areas of operation at both the operational and strategic levels in enemy-dominated areas of operation, focusing on camouflage for survival and success on the battlefield. The book also includes historical references and first-hand accounts to analyse successes and failures. Similar to the first book, the planned book will draw on experiences and TTPs gained from operations of the Military Advisory Command Vietnam. Studies and Operations Group (MACV-SOG). These operations include direct actions, including target acquisition, sabotage, ambushes, raids, denial/area denial, prisoner of war rescue operations, downed aircrew rescue, psychological warfare methods and materials, and other high-risk tasks.
