In the early 1970s, the streets of Czechoslovakia were full of vintage cars in their last years. Private cars from a variety of backgrounds were kept on the road until their last breath. In the 1930s, for example, Czechoslovakia was an industrial country with an innovative automotive industry. Many of these pre-war cars were still on the road when the photographers of this illustrated book first visited the country, which was still behind the Iron Curtain. Many German cars, left behind by the Wehrmacht at the end of the Second World War, American vehicles and, of course, vehicles from friendly Russia were also the subject of the photos. Hundreds of photos of these cars are collected in the two volumes of Pozor (Czech for look out), many of them in colour. Often pictured in magnificent surroundings such as the classic city of Prague, they form a unique document from the seventies of the last century.
