The Sikorsky CH-53 is the largest helicopter in the Bundeswehr inventory and its size makes it a star at any aviation event. In addition to their participation in missions abroad, the huge helicopters have become known to the German public primarily through their missions in the floods of 1997, 2002 and 2013. According to current planning, the aircraft will continue to be in service until around 2030. In this updated edition, the Sikorsky CH-53 is presented in all its variants and mission types. The focus is increasingly on the latest developments and current missions abroad.
