When the MBB Bo 105 flew for the first time in 1967, it was the starting signal for a German success story. The model was a manoeuvrable and technically highly innovative helicopter that was built over 1,400 times in the following decades and operated with great success by countless users. The police, military, rescue services, civil defence and disaster control were the main users of this fast and agile helicopter. Due to its rotor design, the Bo 105 is still the only helicopter in the world that is authorised for aerobatics. Numerous successors were developed from this successful model - e.g. the BK 117 and the H145/M from Airbus Helicopters.
