The Chinese People's Liberation Army's arsenal includes a large number of armoured vehicles, but the types are relatively few. In addition, at least twice as many artillery systems and numerous modern air defence systems are in service. Initially, the weapon technology came mainly from Russia, but was increasingly replaced by Chinese developments. Victor Schunkow has made use of his unique sources to present the arsenal of a major power that is still underestimated in this country.
