Joachim Schreiber, born in 1955, has been an aviation enthusiast since childhood, started as a model pilot with the Little Eagle Owl, was a hang-glider pilot in the 1970s and finally a private pilot on monoplanes since 1988. Although his licence has been suspended for a few years, his interest in aviation remains unbroken. He learned his profession as a graphic designer from scratch and then studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Design in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Already after his apprenticeship, he worked as a freelancer in various advertising agencies, and after his studies he is still a freelance designer in Seeheim near Darmstadt. His main focus is on book design and illustration, especially in the scientific and technical field, but also on classical advertising. And there, too, there are links to aviation. Among others, he worked for AOPA Germany, GdF - Gewerkschaft der Flugsicherung, for VC - Vereinigung Cockpit, for Globeground, a former subsidiary of Lufthansa and for Cologne/Bonn Airport. To pass on some of his expertise, he is a seminar leader for scientific graphics at Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, at the University of Frankfurt and at the Polytechnic Society Frankfurt.
