Postcard book with 30 cards. The picture postcards selected here date from the years from c. 1896 to 1904, when colour cards were first printed as multi-coloured chromolithographs and produced in large numbers. They were artists' cards on the front of which the lithographed Berlin motif was printed and the text could be written for the recipient.
To enlarge this writing space, the designer of the card often arranged two picture motifs. The back of the card was originally intended only for the address of the recipient.
