The book series chronologically describes the history of the reconnaissance teams assigned to the Military Assistance Command Vietnam, Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), OPS-35 (ground reconnaissance), with pictures from their formation to their disbandment. The men who served in this unit contributed first-hand interviews, previously unpublished historical photos, and the history of the team: they report on who they served with, what reconnaissance missions were carried out, what tactics were used, and what the team's badge looked like. The book was supplemented with the help of team members and collectors who provided war artifacts worn or used by the veterans. Items that could previously only be read about have been professionally photographed and can now be seen in color. MAC V SOG.
