The epic of the Battle of the Don (Russian: Zadonscina or Sadonshchina) was probably written at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries by the boyar and late priest Sifoni of Bryansk. It describes the victory of the Moscow Great Prince Dmitri Donskoi ü over the Tatars under Mamai on Kulikovo Pole (Snipe Field). It has survived in several manuscripts from the 15th to 17th centuries überliefert.-Wikipedia-
