Volume 24 of the Africa@at War series tells the story of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a rebel army that emerged from deserted contingents of the Ugandan army, and fought in the Rwandan civil war between 1990 and 1994, the context of which includes the horrific genocide of nearly one million Tutsis and moderate Hutus in 1994. Illustrated with more than 150 photographs, colour profiles and maps, the booklet shows equipment, colours, markings and combat tactics of the RPF and their opponents. This is an interesting study of the emergence and deployment of one of the US's most important allies on the African continent.
