The 40th Regiment of Foot was raised in 1717 in Nova Scotia. Initially was designated as the Richard Philipps Regiment of Foot, in honor of its commanding officer, and was composed of several independent companies stationed in North America.
The Regiment arrived in Boston in 1775 for service in the American Revolution. It participated in diverse battles like the Battle of Long Island, the Battle of Princeton, or the Battle of Brandywine.
Our figure represents a trooper from the Light Infantry Company of that regiment and is dressed in the standard way that these regiments went to the battlefield.
