From 1940, special squadrons were formed in England and later in North Africa to support the Resistance in occupied Europe. The incredible increase in parachute drops in the second half of the war is linked to the entry of the United States into the war. The deployment of its enormous industrial potential in conjunction with the operations carried out from North Africa changed the situation dramatically. The emergence of the armament of the Marquis, particularly during the massive parachute drops in the summer of 1944, is illuminated from a new perspective thanks to access to previously unpublished documentary resources from France and abroad. During four operations, around 759 B-17 bombers dropped 9000 containers in occupied France. In addition to the precise and detailed information on the material and the operations, the human and personal lives are also emphasised. The course of the operations is shown from the perspective of the airmen and ground crews.
