The 3rd Colonial Parachute Regiment is a legendary unit born of the will of an exceptional corps commander, Marcel Bigeard. The name is like a banner closely associated with the paratroopers' gesture in Algeria, where the soldiers, soon to be known as the "Bigeard Boys", successfully overcame all challenges. The Suez crisis in the autumn of 1956 was one of the highlights of French paratroopers' history in an airborne operation that gave a foretaste of today's "foreign missions". An interesting overview, illustrated with over 200 illus. including many previously unpublished photographs.
