Saviem, an acronym for Société Anonyme de Véhicules Industriels et dÉquipements Mécaniques (Industrial Vehicles and Mechanical Equipment Company), was formed by the merger of six French manufacturers who contributed to the great French automotive adventure, particularly in the field of passenger transport, and its extraordinary expansion during the 20th century. This book aims to introduce you to these now-defunct brands: Chausson, Floirat, Isobloc, Latil, Somua, and of course, the Régie Nationale des Usines Renault (Renault National Factories).
