On 19 December 1942, Hitler ordered the formation of two SS Panzer Grenadier Divisions to provide a central reserve in the event of an Allied invasion of France. One of these was the later 10th SS Panzer Division "Frundsberg". The formation and use of the division in France as well as its operations on the western and eastern fronts are described.
