Ludwig Sternaux's melancholy "Book of Remembrance" is a classic among Potsdam books. First published in 1924, it belonged until the 1960s to the firm canon of those who had still experienced this city in its former glory. Now that this splendour has become more visible again in some places, it appears in a new edition to once again take the reader by the hand on a walk through the "world of Potsdam" and bring history to life. The classic Potsdam photographs by Max Baur facilitate this exercise.
