At the end of the Second World War in May 1945, there were thousands of armoured vehicles on Czechoslovakian territory. This illustrated book shows an impressive selection of vehicles from Germany, Russia, the USA and England. Around 70% of the book is dedicated to German and Soviet vehicles in May 1945. Panther, Panzer IV, Tiger II, Jagdpanzer IV, Hetzer, Grille, SPWs, Hummel, StuGs and many other models are illustrated. Russian tanks include the T-34, IS-2, SU-85/100, SU-76, ISU-152 but unarmoured vehicles can also be found.
One chapter deals with American vehicles such as the Sherman, Hellcat, M8 and M5. The other chapters present Czech armoured vehicles from the pre-war and wartime periods, and the final chapter shows photographs of the Soviet invasion in 1968. The book concludes with 40 colour profiles by Petr Stepánek.
