Our series transports the viewer to the Sunday idyll of a small town. Honorable people and nobles, as well as many citizens, follow the call of the bell. Some citizens arrive on horseback, others in their sedan chairs. Invalids and children are also among the church visitors who are welcomed by the priest. On the side of the road, a citizen's daughter waves to her admirer, whom she has just recognized. Of course, many other genre scenes (funerals, concert visits, city life, market activity, etc.) can also be created with these figures. (suitable soldiers see: 100/13/40/114)

Walking to church on Sundays, the so-called "church parade" of the time, was as much a duty of soldiers and officers on Sundays and holidays as the hour of prayer, which was held twice a day. Although not an official service, everyone - with a few exceptions - had to attend. The regulations demanded, certainly not without reason: "All officers are to attend church.... If soldiers make a racket in church, engage in antics or give such scandals, they are to be sent to arrest after the sermon and punished beforehand..."
In accordance with the regulations, officers appear without a sash, the enlisted men only have the hanger with the sabre strapped on, and the drummer does not carry a drum. Only the non-commissioned officers, who stood guard in front of the church during the service to ensure that no one left prematurely, carried their short rifle "as a deterrent".
