On 26 November 1812 a bridge had been made across the Berezina for cavalry and infantry. Napoleon himself crossed the river with the Guard at noon on the 27th. The departure of the guard was an alarm signal for those who remained behind. As long as Napoleon and the Guard were with them, they felt safe; now panic broke out. Everyone wanted to cross the bridge as quickly as possible. This series can be used to show a section of the crossing. Napoleon with his Old Guard, as well as infantrymen, hussars, cuirassiers, dragoons etc. are just crossing the raging river.
