Hussars, as light cavalry, were modelled on the Hungarian example in Prussia in the 18th century, as in almost all European armies. Their use as battle cavalry was a Prussian speciality for a long time. From 1749, the hussars no longer carried standards. Trumpeters always wore winged caps.
