Mühvoll wird das schwere Geschütz auf seiner massiven Lafette von den Stückknechten an seinem Platz schieben. Since the field snake is loaded from the front, it has to be rolled back, loaded and brought into position again after each shot. Lifting beams are used for this purpose. The piecemaster directs the work. Equipment and accessories complete the scene: hoes, digging logs (shovels), axe, water barrel, ball box, wiper, ramrod, powder barrel with loading shovel and bulwarks (large baskets filled with earth for quick fixing of gun positions).
