On 18 June 1815, the battle of Waterloo (or La Belle-Alliance) was fought. There, Wellington, Blücher and Gneisenau and their English and Prussian troops ended the rule of the Hundred Days, which Napoleon I, returned from exile, had been able to establish once more.
