Bertrand du Guesclin (b. c. 1320-d. 13 July 1380) was an important Breton army commander and ConnÃtable of France. Thanks to his military successes in the Hundred Years' War between the crowns of England and France, he went down in legend as a knight without fault and achieved the status of a national hero in the collective memory of the French.
