Hans-Joachim Walter Rudolf Siegfried Marseille (* 13 December 1919 in Charlottenburg b. Berlin; Ä 30 September 1942 seven kilometres südlich von Sidi Abdel Rahman[1], âgypt) was a German fighter pilot and officer in World War II. The most successful fighter pilot in the North African theatre of war, he became known as the Star of Africa.
