Volume 38 of the series "Imágenes de Guerra". The second part of the history of the 3rd SS Panzer Division "Totenkopf" deals with the unit's operations in Ukraine in 1943, the death of the division commander Theodor Eicke, the role of the SS Division "Totenkopf" during the "Citadel" enterprise, the repeated battles for the city of Kharkov or the fierce defensive battles in the course of the gradual retreat towards the Dnieper. During this phase of the war, the SS division "Totenkopf" acted as a kind of "fire brigade" on the Eastern Front, which was always called into action where the need was greatest. The account concludes with a look at the fighting in Romania in 1944.
