The Weathering Magazine. Issue 21: Faded

The latest issue of The Weathering Magazine is entirely devoted to the effects of fading and discoloration. Within this release, you will see various examples of pale and faded finishes seen not only on tanks, trains, and submarines, but also on civilian and science fiction subjects. We will show you how to create faded camouflage on a modern M1A1 Abrams tank and how to achieve a multilayered faded look on abandoned South Lebanese Armys Tiran 4. The booklet also shows how to use a few tricks to apply the weathered colours on a forgotten agricultural machine or how to correctly reproduce the colour changes under the influence of salt water on an American "Gato" class submarine. For those modellers who have little time available, the authors also offer some quick painting techniques to simulate washed-out and faded paintwork, with the Renault 4 and a railway tank wagon serving as examples of two vehicles from the civilian sector.
