The life and military service of French military pilot Anselme Marchal, an aviator who undertook various special missions during World War 1. For example, in the night of 20-21 June 1916, he undertook an air raid on Berlin in a specially modified "Nieuport" aircraft. However, engine problems forced him to make an emergency landing over Poland, and Lieutenant Marchal became a German prisoner of war, from which he escaped together with Roland Garros in February 1918.
