Volume 2 of a reprint of one of the most comprehensive collections of sketches of British Royal Navy ships from 1860 to 1895. The complete work comprises 700 plates (folios), which are reproduced here in their original size (37.5 x 24.6 cm). Volume 2 illustrates all British warships from H.M.S. Warrior to H.M.S. Royal Sovereign as well as monitors, seaplane tenders and aircraft carriers. The individual sketch plates show side views of the ships as well as detailed illustrations and provide information on structural features, variant differences and conversions. One of the most valuable sources on the appearance of the British Navy and its individual ships.
