Description
Not a few, and by no means only American motorbike enthusiasts, consider the classic Indians to be the most beautiful motorbikes ever built. The fact that they can only be admired in museums today is not because of them, but because of the chiefs who let America's oldest motorbike brand gallop to its demise in 1953: Indian went bankrupt, what remained were the legends. The excellent reputation of the brand has been vigorously polished up by the Polaris company for the new millennium and has brought Indian back to life with new motorbikes: The old Indians present themselves as alive and kicking, and this wonderful book of pictures and text by Darwin Holmstrom shows how it came about.
