At a time when flying across the Atlantic was by no means as commonplace as it is today, a supersonic passenger aircraft took to the skies that looked like something out of a science fiction film: the "Concorde". Large and elegant, the delta wing aircraft travelled at almost 2200 km/h - more than twice the speed of sound. The aircraft flew 8,000 metres higher than normal passenger jets - performance data that can still not be compared with any other passenger aircraft today. This volume tells the exciting story of the fastest passenger aeroplane of all time, which took off on its last flight in 2003.
