In this volume, military historians and specialists in the history of state security services from Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Serbia, Hungary and the USA reconstruct the network of relations between the military and state security
Maintaining power - from the point of view of the ruling parties in the states of the Soviet empire, this was the main goal of the internal and external security apparatus. Both apparatuses were therefore closely intertwined and cooperated both in the event of internal unrest and in the event of a possible war. Until 1987, the Soviet Union pursued an offensive concept in the Warsaw Pact with a "system of national defence" that was intended to ensure warfare with both components of state protection.
