This book, part of the Italian Aviation series, covers the creation and development of the twin-engine UH-1N helicopter, starting with the single-engine UH-1D. The UH-1N was built in Italy by Agusta under the designation AB 212. Agusta developed the ASW version used by the naval air force; the navy also used a version for electronic warfare called Gufo. The Italian Air Force used the AB 212 in various liaison squadrons, upgraded it to the ICO standard and deployed it in combat in Afghanistan. The Army received the smallest number of units, but also successfully deploys the AB 212 in foreign missions. The AB 212 helicopter is still in service with the naval aviation, the Italian Air Force and the Army Aviation.
