Volume 4 of the series "RWM. Research - Weapons Technology - Military History. Compendium Black Powder". The revolver models 79 and 83 were not completely replaced with the introduction of the pistol 08, but continued to be used in the contingents of the Imperial Army. They were just as present in the First World War as they were in the immediate post-war period. This book is based on extensive research in the Bavarian War Archives. It shows the distribution of revolvers among the contingents of the Reichsheer, the assessment of their operational value and the various regulations on firearms training. The detailed
description shows that the "Reichsrevolver" remained an indispensable part of the armament of field artillery and supply columns alongside the pistol 08 until after 1918.
